To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what assessment she has made of the effect of the Statistical Note on Land Use Change of January 1985 on (a) planning policy and (b) planning decisions in relation to brownfield land.

Unfortunately my officials have been unable to identify a Statistical Note on Land Use Change from January 1985.

Land Use Change Statistics (LUCS) have been collected since 1985, with the first report being published in 1986. Land use was divided into 24 categories and these categories are still used today.
