My Department is already taking steps to reduce the unnecessary printing of e-mails. My Department has introduced multifunctional printing devices which allow double-sided printing as default. Staff are encouraged as part of the environmental management system to conserve paper by reducing the amount of printing generally. My Department is also introducing an electronic content management system which means that e-mails will no longer need to be printed for the Department's formal record.
