asked Her Majesty's Government:

What funding has been provided to the Oxfordshire coroner between 2001 and 2007, broken down by year.

Coroners are funded by the relevant local authority and policy authority. The Government exceptionally provided funding to the Oxfordshire coroner to help him to deal with a backlog which had built up in his jurisdiction. £80,000 was provided in 2005-06 and £135,000 was provided in 2006-07.
