To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what methodology is used by her Department to account for its carbon emissions.

The methodology used to account for carbon emissions for offsetting purposes is the same used across Government to calculate official and ministerial air travel. For energy purposes, we use the methodology published by the Carbon Trust.

It is an unconscionable disgrace that a Government Minister (or Department) should provide a link to a Wikipedia article as 'evidence' and justification for its policies, especially when the organisation referenced has its own website (as follows):

Anyone can (anonymously) edit any Wikipedia article to make it say what they want it to say. Have NO lessons been learned from the 'Dodgy Dossier' incident?

S Hewlett, you missunderstand how this site works.

Hilary Armstrong NEVER pointed people to a wikipedia article. This site uses the wikipedia links as a way of informing it's readers of the bankground to some of the policy issues.
