Duchy of Lancaster written question – answered on 7th June 2007.
Alert me about debates like this
To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what methodology is used by her Department to account for its carbon emissions.
The methodology used to account for carbon emissions for offsetting purposes is the same used across Government to calculate official and ministerial air travel. For energy purposes, we use the methodology published by the Carbon Trust.

It is an unconscionable disgrace that a Government Minister (or Department) should provide a link to a Wikipedia article as 'evidence' and justification for its policies, especially when the organisation referenced has its own website (as follows):
Anyone can (anonymously) edit any Wikipedia article to make it say what they want it to say. Have NO lessons been learned from the 'Dodgy Dossier' incident?
