DFID has committed £18.6 million towards the UN Consolidated Appeal for Uganda this year. The World Food Programme will receive £7 million for emergency food aid. UNICEF will receive £7.4 million to improve water and sanitation provision, provide emergency household items when required and to support child protection services. £4.2 million will be provided to a joint UN health programme in the north and north-east.

Of the £18.6 million committed we have so far disbursed £8.4 million. The remainder will be released in instalments over the next six months.
