To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will ask the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence to reconsider its decision on Gliadel; and if she will make a statement.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence is currently carrying out an appraisal of Gliadel Wafers (carmustine implants) for the treatment of newly diagnosed high-grade glioma. The institute has not yet issued final guidance to the national health service but expects to do so by summer 2007.
