To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the average time taken was to progress clerical Child Support Agency cases to a stage where a first payment was made in each month since January 2005; and if he will make a statement.

This is another example where Maria Miller has asked a question that the Government fails to respond because it simply doesn't know the answer. If the Government doesn't know how long it is taking to process cases, how can it claim to be managing the situation? How can it take action if response times extend? How can it meaure the quality of service it is offering?
