To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what the UK's trade balance with the EU was in each of the last three years.

According to the ONS UK "Balance of Payments 'Pink Book 2006'", the UK's deficit with the EU25 in trade in goods and services was £28.3 billion, £30.5 billion and £37.9 billion in the three years 2003, 2004 and 2005 respectively.
