To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proportion of sexual offenders in prison attended the sexual offender treatment programme in each of the last five years.
The number of sex offenders in prison and the number attending programmes constantly varies. Therefore the information is not available. In addition, not all sex offenders are suitable or eligible for the programme. The following table provides information on the number of sex offender treatment programme completions in the Prison Service, and data on the sex offender population(1) at
(1 )Defined as prisoners with an index offence of a sexual nature.
