To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many police officers are serving within Northern Ireland constabularies.

I am advised that as of February 2007 the number of police officers serving within Northern Ireland constabularies is as follows:

Regular officers 7,557
Reserve officers 753
Constables part-time 828
Belfast Harbour police 30
Larne Harbour police 7
Airport police (1)24
(1 )24 officers at present, but in the process of recruiting extra staff which will bring the number up to 27 officers in total.
