To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Government has held discussions with (a) the Iraqi Government, (b) the United States Administration and (c) United Kingdom-registered oil companies on the new production-sharing agreements covering the Iraqi oil industry.

We are not aware of any new production-sharing agreements in Iraq, other than those that the Kurdish Regional Government has signed.

A new national Hydrocarbons Law is in the process of being drafted in Iraq, which will determine what types of oil development contracts may be available in the future.

Once again a vitally important question for the people of Blaenau Gwent.I'm sure the people of this constituency will all be debating this issue over dinner and down the pub.
