To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many deaf detainees were bailed due to failure to find a suitably qualified British Sign Language/English interpreter or lipspeaker in the last period for which figures are provided.
The information requested is not held centrally; data held by the Office for Criminal Justice Reform on police and court remands does not include information on the reasons for bail being granted or refused.
