Environment Food and Rural Affairs written question – answered at on 19 December 2006.
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how he plans to ensure the implementation of his Department's "Guidance on Local Site Systems" published in April 2006; and if he will make a statement.
In April, DEFRA published guidance on the identification, selection and management of local sites in order to promote more transparent and consistent approaches in the operation of local sites systems. The overall objective is to create a more consistent sense of the value and importance of local sites. The guidance is available on the DEFRA website at: http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countryside/ewd/local-sites/localsites.pdf.
We are organising a local sites seminar, to be held on
