To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 9 October 2006, Official Report, column 283W, on information technology projects, what the reasons were for the time taken to implement the Government Actuary's Department's BS7799 compliance IT project; and if he will make a statement.

The Government Actuary's Department BS7799 compliance IT project was impacted upon by the department vacating its then offices.
It is expected that BS7799 accreditation will be in place in the next few months.
