Members' staff are employed by Members of Parliament under a standard contract prepared by the House of Commons Department of Finance and Administration. The contract requires Members to review annually the pay of their staff. It is for the Member, as the employer, to determine whether and, if so, by how much an individual member of staff's salary should increase.
