To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills if he will make it his policy to retain the requirement for fieldwork as part of the course for A level geography; and if he will make a statement.

The recently revised A level geography criteria requires students to develop the ability to carry out research, fieldwork and out-of-classroom work. Therefore, fieldwork will remain an important part of geography A level programmes.
