To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what work has been carried out by each of the responsible Northern Ireland Departments in respect of preparing an estimate of the costs of building a new national stadium.

An economic appraisal has been carried out by independent consultants on behalf of the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL) and the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) on the costs of building a multi-sports stadium in Northern Ireland and was completed in September 2005. This estimated the costs of building a new 42,000 seater stadium to be c.£88 million in April 2005 prices.
