This is a local matter. Responsibility for the provision of health services now rests with local national health service organisation. The local primary care trusts (PCTs) responsible for commissioning treatment for NHS patients have, where possible, commissioned ongoing treatment with the same consultant or nearest local NHS provider who offers the service. I am informed that no existing inpatient had to be transferred as a result of the closure.
