asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they plan to put forward a new Museums and Galleries Acquisition Fund to match the support announced for the National Sports Foundation by the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 22 March.

We do not have plans to do so. The national museums and galleries sponsored by DCMS can purchase acquisitions using grant-in-aid, grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund or the National Heritage Memorial Fund, self-generated income (including bequests and donations) and grant from other sources such as the National Art Collections Fund.
