To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many teachers entered into (a) full-time and (b) part-time service in maintained schools in the East Riding of Yorkshire in each year since 2001.

Information on the number of teachers entering service is not available by local authority.

The information requested is available at a national level and this was published in the Statistics of Education, School Workforce in England Volume, 2005 edition, on 26 January 2006. Table C1c refers. This publication is available on the department's website at the following URL:
