To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many children have been received into penal custody on remand in each year since 1990, broken down by age.

The number of persons aged under 18 received into prison establishments on remand, as recorded on the Prison Service IT system, is provided in the table. Information is not available for 1990 or 1991.
