The Northern Ireland House Condition Survey 2001 indicated that 33 per cent. of the population in Northern Ireland were classified as fuel poor. It is expected that the interim House Condition Survey, which is due to be published later this year, will indicate a reduction reflecting the Department for Social Development's efforts to reduce fuel poverty.
