To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the cost of contracted out rebates inthe (a) public and (b) private sector was in the last year for which figures are available; and how many people were covered by contracted out rebates in each sector.

The information is in the table and based on the numbers contracted-out during the 2002–03 tax year, the latest year for which information is available:
