Home Department written question – answered at on 5 April 2005.
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate he has made of the number of (a) newly built police stations and (b) newly built police cell blocks for which private finance initiative contracts were agreed and which do not meet the Home Office guidelines.
As far as I am aware there are no newly built police stations or cell blocks for which private finance initiative (PFI) contracts were agreed and which do not meet the principles of the Home Office guidelines that were in operation at the time contracts were let.
