To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many accidents occurred at her departmental premises in each of the last five years involving (a) members of her Department's staff and (b) members of the public.

The Department for Education and Skills records are only maintained for a three year period in line with the guidance from the Health and Safety Executive. Our records do not differentiate between accidents to staff and other people. The following table provides the information requested.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
