To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have taken place for counterfeiting prescription-only medicines in each year since 1997.
The number of defendants proceeded against in England and Wales 1997 to 2003 for the offence of "Forgery etc. of prescription in respect of scheduled drug" is contained in the following table.
