Under the European Employment Directive (2000/78/EC) regulations will oputlaw age discrimination in employment and vocational training. The Government have already held three public consultations with all those who have an interest in age issues. Regulations will apply to all employers, including those in the sport sector. Our detailed proposals will be set out in draft regulations which will be consulted on in due course.
