To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the reasons for the difference between the number of prisoners eligible for parole and the number of those who have applied since 2000.
The table sets out the number of prisoners each year since 2000–01 who have been eligible to apply for parole and who have declined to do so. No analysis has been made of the reasons why prisoners decline to apply for parole.
