To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment he has made of the impact on professional body journals of the introduction of NHS e-recruitment of allied health professions.

The Department has had regular meetings with representatives from the healthcare professions to discuss the national health service e-recruitment project and will continue to work with them. In addition, the Department of Health and the Department of Trade and Industry are working with members of the Periodical Publishers Association to share information about the development of the service, assess its impact and explore ways in which the service and the health journals can work together to support cost effective recruitment into the NHS.
