To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what the travel costs were of civil servants in (a) her Department and (b) its related agencies in each year since 1997.
All official travel is undertaken in accordance with the rules contained in the Civil Service Management Code and the Department's staff handbook.
The table shows expenditure on travel and subsistence combined by civil servants in the Department and its agency, the Royal Parks from, 1997–98 to 2003–04. An analysis on travel only is not recorded on the Department's accounting system and can be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
