To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on the number of dentists in England.
There were 23,229 national health service dentists in September 2003, an increase of 3,249 dentists since September 1996. This includes dentists working in the general dental service, personal dental service, community dental service, and the hospital and community dental service.
