To ask the Solicitor-General in how many cases in the last five years initial charges of causing death by dangerous driving have been reduced to the charge of careless driving.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) holds no central records on particular charges, or on the amendments made to charges.

This information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
