To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what discussions he has had with Essex county council on his plans to regionalise the fire service.
The Government have no plan to regionalise the Fire and Rescue Service other than in regions which vote in a referendum for an elected regional assembly. No such referendum is proposed in the Eastern region.
