To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what indications he has received from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration on when he can expect to receive his report into Equitable Life.
The Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration is an Officer of the House and, as such, is independent of the Government. It is, therefore, entirely a matter for the Commissioner to determine the timetable for producing her report into Equitable Life.
