To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what proportion of people in rural areas claimed to feel safe from crime in (a) 1996, (b) 1997, (c) 1998, (d) 1999, (e) 2000 and (f) 2001.
The figures show that more people in rural areas feel safe from crime. The proportion (percentage) of adults in rural areas surveyed in the British Crime Survey not worried about crime by type.
