To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 24 October 2001, Official Report, column 285W, when he formed his policy of not answering questions on immigration matters.
It has been long-standing Government policy not to disclose details of a person's immigration status to a third party since this is regarded as confidential information.
