Mr. Christopher Price asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will prefer charges against Lieutenant-Colonel Seward of 1st Signals Regiment at Ayios Nikolaos, Cyprus, for improper financial dealings in relation to equipment used in that part of Cyprus at present occupied by the Turkish Army.

Mr. Wiggin: As a result of an investigation into alleged misuse of military equipment and irregularities in connection with Customs and Excise matters in Cyprus, Lieutenant-Colonel Seward will be brought to trial by general court martial at Bulford on 7 December 1981.
