Mr. McQuarrie asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in order to reduce the use of fish for fish meal and consequent financial loss to the fishing industry, he will institute a marketing campaign to encourage the sale of fish for human consumption in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith: Powers for promoting fish consumption have been given to the Sea Fish Industry Authority whose members are well aware of the importance which the Government attach to identifying ways of improving marketing in this sector.
