Osborn asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many houses in the Sheffield area fall within the housing society or housing association category; if he will list the main associations, the number of houses within each and the manager, indicating in each case whether public body, or private agent.

Details of the main registered housing associations within the Sheffield metropolitan district, their respective holdings, and their management arrangements, supplied by the Housing Corporation, are as follows:

The dwellings owned by the Hallam housing association and the co-ownership societies are managed by firms of estate agents. The other associations use their own staff to manage their stock.
