Does my hon. Friend accept that there is a very important role for stock options, both to incentivise staff at all levels—not just directors—and as a means of growing a business? The small and medium-sized business sector will be the main vehicle for jobs growth in the decades ahead. In such companies, stock options can be a very good way of keeping valuable and innovative young employees on board for the long term.
