To ask the Scottish Executive how many teachers of deaf children employed by local authorities wholly or mainly to support deaf children have completed the mandatory training as specified by the Requirements for Teachers (Scotland) Regulations 2005.
This is a matter for local authorities. The information requested is not held centrally.
Under the terms of the Requirements for Teachers (Scotland) Regulations 2005, local authorities are required to employ teachers who are registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and who have the appropriate skills and knowledge for the post in which they are employed.
