The Scottish Government is given independent advice on screening by the UK National Screening Committee. The UK National Screening Committee currently recommends that a national screening programme for Group B Streptococcus should not be introduced. The evaluation of antenatal screening for Group B Streptococcal carriage against NSC Handbook Criteria is available at: http://www.screening.nhs.uk/groupbstreptococcus .
