To ask the Scottish Executive whether the number of fatal and serious road accidents is taken into account when decisions are taken about whether to upgrade trunk roads.
The assessment of proposals for new and improved roads does take account of fatal and serious accidents along with other criteria.
Transport Scotland has the operational responsibility for this area and can be contacted for more information if required.
