– Scottish Parliament written question – answered on 2nd March 2006.
Question S2W-22932
To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to promote direct flights to Germany from Scotland.
Three direct air links have already been established through investment from the Route Development Fund between Edinburgh and Cologne, Glasgow Prestwick and Niederrhein (Düsseldorf), and Glasgow Prestwick and Lübeck (Hamburg). A direct link between Glasgow International Airport and Berlin Schönefeld will commence in May 2006. Any approach by an airline to commence direct scheduled services from Scotland to German destinations not already served will be considered.
