To ask the Scottish Executive what action it will take to implement the recommendations of the Expert Panel on School Meals.

All of the recommendations of the panel have been accepted. £12.4 million, £21 million and £24.1 million in each of the three financial years 2003-04 to 2005-06 has been allocated to implement the recommendations. In addition, £2 million per annum will be provided to local authorities via the National Priorities Action Fund to provide fruit in schools to primary 1 and 2 children.
