To ask the Scottish Executive (a) how many people were on hospital waiting lists and (b) what the average length of waiting time for an operation was in each year since 1996.
Information on the number of in-patients and day cases on the true waiting list, and the median length of waiting time before an acute hospital admission is provided in the following tables.
