To ask the Scottish Executive whether it receives information as part of the joint staffing watch survey on the number of staff employed by local authorities as graduate trainees or as sandwich year students.

The Scottish Executive does not receive such information as part of the joint staffing watch survey (JSW). The JSW collects information on numbers of staff employed in local authorities broken down by department and salary band.
