To ask the Scottish Executive what is the average cost per pupil for primary school pupils attending schools with 65 or less pupils.
Based on data provided by local authorities and published annually by HM Inspectorate of Schools, the average budgeted cost per pupil in such schools in financial year 1998-99 was £2,990 compared with a national average per primary pupil of £1,849.
