Scotland’s cultural sector is the beating heart of our country, with considerable cross-policy impact, including in health and wellbeing. I warmly welcome the fact that the Government has committed a record increase of £34 million to the culture budget, which will facilitate the provision of multiyear funding, despite a single-year fixed budget from Westminster. Does the First Minister agree that, given that Labour’s ambition was for £25 million—£9 million less than is going to be delivered—it is incumbent on all Labour MPs to back the budget and support our creative industries?
