No, I will not do that, because he is not here.

One young boy came up to me afterwards and said, in true Paisley fashion, “George—you had him on toast.”

During our debate, the same member said, “George has been fighting for this for 40 years.” Ms Lamont said something similar about the First Minister. Forty years ago, I was four years old. I have been involved in the campaign for quite a while, but even I was not involved then. Surely we can talk about things more positively. I never tire of talking about the positive case for independence and for our country. That is why I got involved in the campaign 28 years ago, when I was 16. I was motivated by what was best for my local community during the dim and dark days of Thatcherism.
